The Chartered Institute of Journalists calls on China to release Australian broadcaster Cheng Lei from detention which now stands at 1,024 days since 13th August 2020 See: &

The CIoJ remains concerned about the trials and sentencing of Belarus journalist Roman Protasevich and his friend Sofia Sapega following their abduction from a diverted Ryanair flight 23rd May 2021 which is now 741 days ago. Sofia should be released immediately from her 6 year jail sentence. Despite the mixed signals over Roman’s position in Belarus before and after his pardon, he should be allowed to leave the country of his own free will. See:
