“U-TURN OF ALL U-TURNS!”
framing the Chagos decision as a political climbdown. - Meanwhile, The Sunday Times highlights diplomacy, reporting:

quoting Health Secretary Wes Streeting on hospital conditions.
Human interest and justice
Some papers highlight long-running legal and human stories.
- The Observer leads with:
“Jailed for 38 years – Released without apology”
telling the story of Peter Sullivan, described as a miscarriage of justice.
Space and science optimism
A more positive theme appears across several titles.
- The Daily Star Sunday celebrates the Artemis mission:
“Super splashing great”
alongside: “History-making Artemis II crew hit bullseye landing” - The Sunday Mirror echoes the story more straightforwardly with:
“Welcome home” for the returning astronauts.
Sport and lighter stories
The Grand National and celebrity news feature heavily.

“I Am Maximus races into the Grand National history books” - Tabloids focus strongly on health news about a TV presenter:

The Institute calls on Belarus to release the journalists and media workers it has detained. Belarus is currently ranked 167th out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index. See: https://rsf.org/en/country/belarus RSF states: ‘To silence independent journalists, the authorities have resorted to state-sponsored terrorism, including censorship, violence, mass arrests, and coordinated raids on homes and media offices, as well as disbanding the Association of Belarusian Journalists (BAJ).’
The CIoJ calls on all governments and states unjustly detaining journalists for doing their professional work to respect freedom of expression, the right to liberty and free them immediately. See: https://rsf.org/en/new-record-number-journalists-jailed-worldwide
