The Radio Plays of Lucille Fletcher

Lucille Fletcher (1912 – 2000) wrote two of the most iconic suspense radio plays in US broadcasting history. She was also a successful American screenwriter and crime novelist.

The Hitch-Hiker and Sorry, Wrong Number are highly celebrated.

Sorry, Wrong Number was adapted by Lucille and expanded into the 1948 film noir classic of the same name.

She was also married to the CBS radio composer and musical director Bernard Herrmann and wrote the libretto for his opera Wuthering Heights.
